On 31st March, in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism held a press conference to introduce the International Travel Expo in Ho Chi Minh City - ITE HCMC 2022. Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) attended the press conference.

     Speaking at the conference, Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, emphasised that ITE HCMC is one of the important events of Ho Chi Minh City and holds a leading reputation in the lower Mekong region. Getting back after two years of turmoil due to the Covid-19 pandemic, ITE HCMC 2022 is committed to offering grand breakthroughs in organisation, continuing to affirm its role as the leading international tourism event in Vietnam and the region, ideal destination for localities, tourism businesses, hotels, resorts, attractions and related units to promote products and services to domestic and international visitors.

     Embracing the theme “Growing Forward Together”, the 16th ITE HCMC 2022 will take place from 8th to 10th September 2022 at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC), District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.

     The 16th ITE HCMC is expected to have more than 200 exhibitors including airlines, hotels and resorts, tour operators, major corporations, and representatives of many national tourism promotion agencies with the participation of businesses from over 45 provinces and cities of Vietnam.

     Especially, the EXPO is also expected to attract about 150 high-quality international buyers, who are senior leaders from travel agencies, MICE organisers from key markets such as Southeast Asia, Europe, Japan, Korea, USA, Australia and New Zealand, Middle East…

     In the framework of EXPO, there will be many activities to happen, such as: International Buyers and Press Programme, Opening Ceremony - Gala Dinner "The Essence of Vietnamese Rice", Vietnam MICE Tourism Forum, Workshop on introducing key tourist markets, ITE HCMC 2022 Tourism Awards, Regional cultural experience area…

     In addition to the traditional form of direct display of previous expos, this year, when international units cannot directly participate in the fair in Vietnam, they can choose one of two forms of exhibition: Display booth directly at the EXPO with the support of workers at the booth arranged by the Organising Committee; or 3D virtual reality booth and online transaction connection system.

     Attending the press conference, Mr. Ha Van Sieu, VNAT’s Vice Chairman indicated that VITM Ha Noi and ITE HCMC will be the two important showstoppers in 2022 in terms of trade and tourism, affirming the recovery and development of the industry.

     The 16th ITE HCMC will have remarkable achievements because of its attentive preparation from the beginning, especially with the participation of CIS Vietnam and Le Bros with a new and modern communication strategy.

     Mr. Ha Van Sieu affirmed that VNAT always highly appreciates the pioneering of tourism in Ho Chi Minh City in terms of professionalism, brand, and at the same time, we want to receive the response of localities, destinations, businesses, and media agencies so that ITE HCMC will reap best achievements. VNAT and Ho Chi Minh City will coordinate to build and operate activities to maintain and promote the brand of ITE HCMC as an international-level expo.
