Bai Dinh pagoda - the biggest pagoda in Vietnam

Bai Dinh Pagoda, a part of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, is located in Gia Sinh Commune, Gia Vien District, Ninh Binh Province. This relic is about 18km from Ninh Binh city and 100km from Hanoi Capital.

Bai Dinh is the largest pagoda in Southeast Asia and famous for many records: the owner of the largest bronze Buddha statue, the largest bronze bell and the most Arhat Statues with 500 Arhat statuesin ASEAN, etc.
Bai Dinh ancient pagoda was founded in 1136 by Zen Buddhist Priest Nguyen Minh Khong, includes visiting places such as Ngoc well, caves for worshipping Buddha, Mother Goddesses and Mr. Nguyen Minh Khong. Since 2003, based on the foundation of the ancient pagoda, built enterprise Xuan Truong has invested in improvements and expansion of the temple with a total area of ​​over 1,000 hectares at present.The typical architecture of the newtemple currently include: Tam Quan Gate, Bell-tower, Dharma Temple, Bodhisatva Temple, Tam The Temple, Arhat Corridor, etc. In addition, many other workshave been under construction such as Buddhism Culture Park, Dam ThiLake Park, green Park.
The Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex (including Bai Dinh Pagoda) was recognized as Vietnam’s first mixed natural and cultural heritage by UNESCO on June 23, 2014.
