Thai Vi Temple is located in Van Lam Hamlet, Ninh Hai Commune, Hoa Lu District, Ninh Binh Province. The temple was built to memorise the Kings of Tran Dynasty such as Tran Thai Tong, Tran Thanh Tong, and Queen Hien Tu for their great contribution to the country in general and Vu Lam region in particular.In addition, villagers also worship King Tran Nhan Tong and King Tran Anh Tong in this monument.

Thai Vi Temple is an architecture that shows Nguyen Dynasty’s building style. The main work consists 3 house with 28 stone pillars (3.2 meters long) of which 22 is square pillars. The circle pillars in the 3rd house was carved carefully and delicately. The temple has many ancient works that have cultural and historical value, especially the bell-tower built in King Duy Tan time.

Thai Vi Temple was not only a resistance base for Dai Viet’s troops against the Mongols in the 13th century but also a revolutionary base during the resistance against the French Colonialism. Today, the relic is a place for cultural and religious activities and wonderful festivalsfull of national identity.

Thai Vi Temple was recognized as national historical-cutulral relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism now) in 1994.
