Hoa Lu Festival takes place from 9th to 11th March of lunar calendar annually in Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, Truong Yen Commune, Hoa Lu District 

to commemorate King Dinh Tien Hoang and King Le Dai Hanh’s contribution, highly raise the principle of remembering sources and pray for peace and good weather conditions. The festival is composed of the Ritual and the Festival. The Ritual consists of ceremonies, especially water-carrying procession at Truong Yen Station (Hoang Long River) and solemn rite at Kinh Dinh and King Le Temples. The Festival is marked with “Co lau tap tran” and traditional games such as wrestling, calligraphy writing test, Chinese chess, dragon dance, letter arrangement with body, etc.
