Ninh Binh province's tourism industry boasts major advantages for development. With various attractive destinations, beautiful landscapes and a fresh atmosphere, many domestic and foreign tourists have chosen Ninh Binh as their destinations.

Most of local tourist destinations like Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, Tam Coc, Van Long Nature Reserve and Cuc Phuong National Park hold great potential to develop eco-tourism services.

In recent years, the model of ecotourism in Ninh Binh has been developed in various types such as rural tourism, agricultural tourism and homestay tourism. Among those, homestay tourism has attracted more and more attention from tourists.

In an effort to develop eco-tourism, the province has been promoting homestay services, enabling visitors to stay with and experience the daily life of local rural residents.

Registering for homestay services, tourists will have the chance to bike and row a boat while contemplating limestone mountains, biodiversity, cultural and historical values and traditional festivals of local people and experience their daily life such as working in the fields, fishing, and cooking traditional foods.

Ninh Binh has created favorable conditions for local residents and businesses to provide homestay services. At the same time, the provincial Department of Tourism opened training classes to improve tourism knowledge and skills for local residents who offer homestay services.

Local residents will play the role as tour guides, provide accommodations for, and instruct tourists how to participate in daily activities and traditional festivals. In addition, many local  travel companies have offered more and more homestay packages to attract foreign and domestic tourists.

Therefore, homestay services have been flourishing in Ninh Binh, especially in Hoa Lu and Gia Vien districts which are home to the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, Tam Coc, Hang Mua (Dancing Cave), and Van Long Nature Reserve.

The development of eco-tourism services is expected to bring more experiences to tourists as Ninh Binh is striving to boost domestic tourism after the COVID-19 pandemic is controlled, thus helping the province's tourism sector increase revenues.
