In the afternoon of June 22, 2020, Ninh Binh Department of Tourism held a conference to discuss measures to promote and attract tourists at Hoang Son Peace Hotel. Mr. Pham Quang Ngoc - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended the conference.

Attending the conference were leaders of the Department of Tourism, the Provincial Tourism Association, leaders of departments and units under the Department of Tourism, leaders of some typical tourism service businesses  and reporters of the Newspaper, Radio and Television came to report.

In the first 6 months of 2020, the Covid -19 epidemic has seriously affected the tourism industry of Vietnam in general and Ninh Binh in particular: The total number of visitors in Ninh Binh in the first 6 months is estimated at 1.5 million arrivals, down to 72% over the same period in 2019 (of which domestic visitors reached 1.34 million, equal to 27% over the same period, international visitors reached 160 thousand arrivals, equal to 36% over the same period), tourism revenue reached VND 800 billion, down upto 66% over the same period, 95% of businesses lost or narrowed the market, nearly 65% of businesses lacked capital or business cash flow. Up to 92% of businesses said that their revenue dropped by over 70%.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Pham Quang Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged and praised the enthusiastic comments and responsibilities of the representatives of service enterprises in the province in order to create special tourism products to attract tourists. He also emphasized that the disease is still complicated, so in the coming time, the tourism industry should actively coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to ensure safety for tourists on the top and next. Based on the experience of the provincial tourism leader board, the Department of Tourism, Tourism Associations and businesses need to increase exchanges in order to find ways to stimulate tourism in accordance with the locality to work together to build a brand.
